Two happy riders from one of our course
YOUR TRAINERS WILL BE:
Tanya and Marion Larrigan, not forgetting the horses! The courses are a family affair at Maywood, though mostly with Tanya, Marion steps in if extra help is needed.
Lunch is with the family and you can be assured of an interesting time from discussing the morning events, you will hear stories of the family history. From the time of when as a lad Tanyas father Peter rode the horses up from the Bogs in Ireland, of Tanyas antics as a child and not forgetting that Marion was also a top dog trainer - add this to all the horse sense that is spoken and you will see why this will not be just another training course!
THE VENUE:
Is at the Larrigans home of Maywood Farm Stud, Woodchurch,
Ashford, Kent TN26 3Q
Whilst your main aim is to broaden your horizons for both you and your equine friend we would strongly suggest that if you can make a little bit of extra time then try to explore the Garden of England. With London 1 hour by train - Paris 2 hours by train and lots in the middle, you could even book one day extra and do some sight-seeing while your horse will be cared for back at Maywood for no extra charge!
Tanya & Marion Larrigan both promote classical training in all their horse work co-operation not domination is the way in training, there are no shortcuts or gadgets. When they talk classical dressage they do not believe there should be any difference competition or otherwise, horses/ ponies should be light in the hand, responsive and go forward happily and working within its limits.
Both have trained many different breeds including Iberians - Marion was a former Chairperson of the Andalucian Society and Tanya has competed successfully on Andalucians and Lusitano's as well as many other breeds
Though they are high level trainers their aim is to make the world a better place for horses and ponies - this starts with spreading the word! They work with riders/ handlers of all levels and with animals of all shapes, types and sizes for pleasure and competition, as long as you would like to learn - then they are here to help and both are members of the Classical Riding Club.
These will be up on the diary page, please get in touch if you wis soon to get booked in now!
If you wish to do a one day course that is fine.
IF YOU HAVE A SPECIAL DATE IN MIND, OR WOULD LIKE TO BOOK ONE AS A SURPRISE, A PRESENT, PLEASE EMAIL TANYA AT t.larrigan@hotmail.com

If you who are using one of Tanya's horses you will be looking after them, totally, grooming mucking out its all part of bonding and learning.
The courses are designed be friendly, informal and relaxed! The groups are kept small to encourage interaction both verbally and if needed to assist each other, in turn helping with the learning curve.
